This amazing tour to Rottnest Island (Wadjamup) will give you opportunities to practice many photographic techniques such as  landscape, seascape, macro, quokka portraits, birds, nightscapes and much more.
We will set some individual photo challenges and have a session for sharing and
feedback. All levels of photographers welcome.

Rottnest is an amazing A class reserve with pristine waters, amazing flora and fauna. Our days will be spent exploring the island, visiting many of the bays and attraction that the island has to offer.

The workshop will include refreshing the fundamentals of photography, challenges set by Anna-Mair, instruction on compositions and settings for all photo opportunities.

All levels of photographer and all makes of camera are welcome.

The workshop includes breakfast x2, lunch x3 and dinner x2 plus tea and coffee (alcohol and soft drinks are at your own cost). The accommodation is in either a twin share or single room (paying single price) with shared facilities. If you are traveling alone and do not mind sharing with a single of the same sex then you are not required to pay the single price. 

Highlights of tour

Day one: 11.00 am Meet and Greet over morning tea, photo challenges explained, fundamentals of photography and exercises, sunset shoot and night shoot if weather permits.        Mt, L,D

Day two: Full day of photography exploring Wadjemup on Island Bus, sunset shoot and night shoot if weather permits.               B,L,D

Day three: Dawn shoot, scenic flight, photo sessions and challenges around the Settlement, The Basin and Picky’s Beach and the all important Quokka photography.        B,L 

Places are strictly limited.

Non photographers are welcome (when sharing a room with photographer) to join us as the island will offer you plenty of opportunities to explore and relax should you chose to do so. Please contact me for price. 

Please note: All accommodation is in shared 2 to 4 bedroom units.

We will arrange your ferry to Rottnest and back from either B shed, Fremantle or Northport, Fremantle. If you wish to travel from the City or Hilarys and extra charge may apply. Please notify us of your preferred departure point by emailing us at info@CTLPhototours.com. We will start our time together on the Island at approx 10.30 (depending on ferry arrivals) which would mean that your ferry will depart approx between 9-10am so please let us know if you are unable to make this departure time. Ferry times change depending on the season so this will all be confirmed to you once we have been able to make the bookings. You will be allowed one piece of checked luggage free with your ticket if you need more a surcharge will be made. The luggage will be delivered to your accommodation.  In addition to your personal clothes and toiletries we suggest you bring your battery charger (and perhaps a double plug adaptor), note book and pen. If you’d like to bring a computer or tablet to load your images onto at night you may be we suggest you carry it in your hand luggage.
What to bring: Camera, fully charged batteries (and a spare if you have one) and plenty of space on your memory card. A wide angle lens is best for landscape and a telephoto is need for birdlife. A polarising filter will give you beautiful colour on the ocean. If you would to do some long exposures to get that smoky water effect you’ll need a tripod and neutral density filters. A monopod or walking pole is handy too. Please remember to wear comfortable non slip preferably enclosed shoes, bring a hat, water, sunscreen
I will contact you before the event with a reminder of what to bring and to confirm your ferry times. 
A copy of our waiver is attached for your reference but I will have copies for you to sign on your arrival.
