Our Discover Scuba Dive is a quick and easy introduction into what it takes to explore the underwater world. Although this is not a scuba certification course, you’ll learn all the steps it takes to be a PADI certified diver.

You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. If you make an open water dive, you’ll practice a few more skills in shallow water to prepare for your adventure. Get ready to:

•Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive and how easy it is to move around underwater with your gear.

•Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.

•Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive.

•Have fun swimming around and exploring.

•Hear about becoming a certified diver through the PADI Open Water Diver course.

Our instructors are looking forward to showcasing our beautiful Southern Great Barrier Reef and hope you’re excited for your introduction to diving.

 

A few things before arrival:

  • This booking does not include your return ferry transfer, you will need to arrange your own transport out to Great Keppel Island and back. You can find further information on the Keppel Konnections website https://www.keppelkonnections.com.au/
  • Some medical conditions and medications may require clearance from a doctor PRIOR to participating in this activity. You will find attached the form required for this activity, if you could peruse the medical section in Part 1. If you answer yes, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

  • This link below will take you to a form each participant individually needs to fill out and about 20-30mins of eLearning you will need to complete for your Discover Scuba dive.  You will need to create a free account and Login with PADI to do this.  We ask that you complete this sooner rather than later, incase there are any issues that arise and we can clear those up before the day.

On the day:

  • Our dive centre is located near the ferry arrivals, towards the sign for Great Keppel Island Hideaway. Look for our blue dive hut. Pop in and say hello when you get to the island so you can complete your PADI registration 
  • Your experience starts at 12:30pm and returns around 3-3:30pm with plenty of time for the 4pm return ferry
  • Our dive vessel is a wet boat, this means, you might get wet! Please bring something warm for post-dive bliss!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

-We include all the basic scuba gear you’ll use including a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, dive gauges and a tank. -You will need to bring: swimmers, towel and seasickness medication (if you require) -Transport from Keppel Bay Marina to GKI is NOT included in this price Cancellation: should dangerous sea conditions (as deemed by the owner), mechanical failure of our vessel or government enforced restrictions prohibit the course from running, and an agreeable back-up plan can not be reached, a full refund or credit to another day will be provided. Unforeseeable personal circumstances can be presented to the owners and will be assessed on an individual basis. No refund will be provided for change of mind or less than 48 hours notice
