Important Information
Scheduling: Please arrive in sufficient time to change and be ready for the start of the scheduled lesson time.
Waiver: Each participant will be required to complete a waiver before participating in a course/experience. This can be done online or at the office.
Location: Lessons will start from Manly Sailing. Our office is located on the wharf level underneath Many Yacht Club. When in Manly, facing the Manly Ferry Wharf, turn left and follow the path around past East Esplanade beach until it ends. A short 10 minute walk.
Parking: Parking is difficult in Manly and all parking around us is on street and limited to two hours. We recommend you park in one of the council car parks where you will get two hours free and pay for additional hours thereafter or park a little further away in Little Manly where parking for longer periods is permitted.
Food/water: Please feel free to bring snacks and water bottles with you.
Footwear: Old trainers or soft soled shoes to provide protection from sharp objects. Crocs and Thongs are not permitted as they cannot be securely fastened to feet. Anyone arriving without secure footwear will not be permitted on the boats or the wharf.
Hat: A secure hat that can be tied on is recommended.
Clothing: Loose fitting pants/active wear which will allow you to move around the boat easily. A long sleeve T-Shirt or top for sun protection.
Warm Top: such as an old polar fleece, or a light wind jacket is advised to add that extra layer if it’s chilly.
PFD (Personal Floatation Device) – we supply PFD’s for all students. Anyone declining to wear their PFD will not be allowed to participate.
Sun cream: Participants should bring and use sun cream, preferably Zinc or at least factor 30+.
Secure gear bag: is required to store all clothes and gear. We will do our best to make sure students gear is secure but we do not have lock up facilities so please don’t bring valuables. Gear should be labeled clearly to mix-ups / lost property. We will store lost property for a maximum of two weeks following an event.
Dry clothes: Participants may get wet during the session so a set of dry clothes for afterwards is advised.
